Boardmasters 2016 round up
The UK’s biggest Surf, Skate and Music festival is over for another year. 2016 was a amazing year and here’s a few pictures we snapped over the weekend.
It was amazing to see the WSL back for the surfing contest, bringing international surfers to the UK can only be a good thing for UK surfing the festival and everyone involved. Groms who see these international surfers will be inspired to get better, to try new moves and push themselves to surf as good as these guys and girls, thats a great thing for UK surfing.
It was a tough year for UK surfers, most exited in the early rounds by Jobe Harris, Luke Dillion, Ben Skinner and Adam Griffiths progressed well as did Peony Knight and Ellie Turner. Hopefully having a tough year this year will fire them up for a big year of training and competing to come back next year stronger.
The festival at watergate was EPIC this year, amazing weather, great DJ’s and bands made it a year to remember. The festival gets bigger and bigger each year, we cant wait to see what they come up with for 2017.
We joined the boys at Fourth Surfboards and teamed up with a demo fleet, a 16ft stoker with his face missing and spent the week chatting and letting you guys and girls surf our boards. It was an amazing week and we were so stoked at how many people came to see us.
We also did a Fourth Surfboards team signing which was amazing. We were blown away by how many of you turned up to meet the team.
Here’s a few of our top picks from the weekend. We hope you had a great time and cant wait for next year. See you all then.
